We’re looking for an experienced Associate Town Planner to join a dynamic team in Bristol. THE ROLE
You’ll be responsible for leading and delivering a variety of planning projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and submitting planning applications, particularly for larger development schemes
- Leading project teams and supporting junior planners to meet deadlines
- Offering expert advice on national and local planning policies, especially on complex sites
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities
- Writing detailed reports and presenting at planning boards, public inquiries, and appeals
- Staying up to date with the latest planning legislation and industry developments
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- A degree in Town Planning
- Full RTPI membership (or eligible to achieve)
- At least 5 years of post-graduate experience in Town Planning, particularly with large-scale projects
- Strong project management skills and the ability to lead and support teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients and stakeholders
- A solid understanding of planning legislation and industry best practices
- A full UK driving licence for site visits
