Role – Ecologist
Location – Suffolk
Salary - £28 - £30K DOE
We are working with a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy who are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Ecologist to support their Ecology division. The successful Ecologist will play a key role in conducting ecological surveys, producing reports, and providing ecological advice, toolbox talks and watching briefs. The role will involve working on various projects across Wales and England, focusing on environmental impact assessments, habitat management plans, and protected species surveys.
THE ROLE
- Conducting ecological surveys and assessments
- Producing high-quality ecological reports, including impact assessments, mitigation strategies, and habitat management plans
- Providing ecological advice and support to clients, including liaising with statutory bodies, local authorities, and other stakeholders
- Managing projects effectively to a high standard
- Contributing to the development of proposals and tenders for new work
ECOLOGIST KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- A degree/postgraduate qualification in ecology
- At least two years of experience working in an ecological role
- Demonstrable experience of delivering high-quality work
- Experience in conducting protected species surveys, including bats, great crested newts, Dormouse, and reptiles
- A good understanding of relevant legislation, including the Wildlife and Countryside Act and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations
- ECoW experience
- Excellent report writing and communication skill
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
