We are working with a sociable and friendly multidisciplinary consultancy who are dedicated to delivering high-quality ecological assessments and management plans. They are looking for an experienced and motivated Ecologist to join the team. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in ecological assessments, habitat identification, and protected species surveys. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct Preliminary Ecological Assessments (PEAs)
- Prepare high-quality ecological reports and management plans
- Oversee and manage Phase 2 protected species surveys
- Ensure compliance with Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) processes and contribute to project planning efforts.
- Use QGIS for data analysis and project mapping
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide expert ecological advice and support
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Ecologist (3-4 years preferred)
- Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
- Proven experience conducting PEAs and preparing ecological management plans
- Strong report writing skills and a keen attention to detail
- Competency in preparing habitat creation and management plans
- Knowledge and understanding of Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) processes
- Proficiency in QGIS for spatial analysis and mapping
- Experience managing Phase 2 protected species surveys
- An interest in arboriculture and landscape design
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence
