We are seeking an experienced Principal Town Planner to join a dynamic and expanding team within a reputable, multidisciplinary consultancy in Bristol. Our client offers a diverse range of services, including planning, design, environmental assessments, and property development. They work with both public and private sector clients, delivering tailored, sustainable solutions for a variety of exciting projects. This role will be based in their Bristol office.

THE ROLE
As a Principal Town Planner, you will have the opportunity to take on a range of responsibilities, including:
- Leading the preparation, submission, and monitoring of planning applications
- Managing development plans and conducting site appraisals
- Leading and managing a variety of projects, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met
- Writing detailed reports, liaising with clients, local authorities, and the public
- Coordinating and presenting at planning boards, public inquiries, and appeals
- Keeping abreast of changes in planning legislation and industry best practices
- Advising on national and local planning policies, conservation areas, and listed buildings
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in Town Planning
- Ideally you will be a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI)
- A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in Town Planning, with a focus on planning applications and site appraisals
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, engage with clients, and present confidently
- Proficiency with the Planning Portal and Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- A full UK driving licence for site visits
