We're looking for a skilled Town Planner to join a growing and friendly team within a well-known multidisciplinary consultancy. Our client with offices across the UK offers a wide range of services, from planning and design to environmental assessments and property development. Working with both public and private sector clients, they’re all about providing smart, local solutions for a variety of exciting projects. This role would be based out of their Bristol office.
THE ROLE
  • In this role, you’ll have the chance to take on a range of interesting responsibilities, including:
  • Preparing, submitting, and tracking planning applications
  • Helping out with development plans and site appraisals
  • Giving guidance on national and local planning policies, as well as conservation areas and listed buildings
  • Leading smaller projects or supporting larger ones, keeping everything on track
  • Coordinating meetings and presenting at planning boards, appeals, and public inquiries
  • Writing reports, updating clients, and liaising with local authorities and the public
  • Keeping up to date with changes in planning legislation and industry best practices
 
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • To be a good fit for this role, you’ll need:
  • A degree in Town Planning (or something similar) accredited by the RTPI.
  • Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
  • At least 2 years of post-graduate work experience in Town Planning, including planning applications and site appraisals
  • Strong verbal and written skills for writing reports, talking to clients, and presenting at hearings
  • Comfortable using the Planning Portal and Microsoft Office
  • Adaptable, and happy to work both independently and with a team
  • A full UK driving licence for any site visits
